The IUEF is a student-run initiative, which is focused on providing a channel of communication between the business network in Ireland and active entrepreneurs in third level education.
Thanks to all those who supported IUEF 2013, which took place in the UCD-TCD Innovation Academy on 21st March. The event was a huge success and we are looking forward to next year already.
Gavin Duffy co-ordinated the evening which included six new entrepreneurs, alongside two returning companies from last year. The presenters faced Questions & Answers from a formidable panel of Business Leaders.
We are delighted to have worked again with our third level partners and corporate sponsors, with whom our selected six companies took part in preparatory workshops.
We would like to extend a special thanks to our guest speakers, Minister for Education & Skills Mr Ruairí Quinn T.D. and Mrs Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission.
Photos and video of the event will be uploaded in the coming days.
The Forum was launched on 29th March 2012, with a great reception from the third level start-up scene and the Irish business community. At the event, eight student entrepreneurs presented their business by way of a five-minute presentation, prepared in conjunction with Accenture, to an audience of business leaders.
After the presentations, a Q&A discussion, coordinated by Ivan Yates, was held in order to give the business leaders in attendance an opportunity to provide feedback and advice.
Following this, a drinks reception/ networking session offered the entrepreneurs an opportunity to directly connect and discuss ideas with the business leaders in attendance.
The ultimate aim of the event is to showcase young entrepreneurial talent and to provide a channel for entrepreneurs in third level education to discuss ideas and secure capital and/or mentorship.
